We are a member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) formerly the Health Professions Council, who assume responsibility for the regulation of Chiropodists & Podiatrists (alongside a number of other Health and Care Professions).

Podiatry and Chiropody are protected titles.

HCPC standards play a key role in ensuring public protection by making sure that Chiropodists & Podiatrists in England have the competency, knowledge, values and behaviour expected of them by members of the public and employers alike.

The HCPC is responsible for setting standards, approving and monitoring education and training programmes.

The principal aim of the College is "looking after the interests of members, enabling them to practise more effectively".

The College promote guidelines and standards of practice.  They ensure that they are evidence based, ensuring patient safety and clinical effectiveness with a focus on outcomes.

The College campaign to raise awareness among general public and government that good foot health is an essential component to quality of life.

The College focuses on professional values, Practice & Standards and they provide members with guidelines and standards relating to patient care, which they must adhere to, in order to comply with membership requirements.
